Process - Corian Surfaces
My job for Corian became to build there new visoins for kitchen and bathrooms with there brand new line of Quartz surfaces around. Building each environment would just take a week from start to completion. Below is a short tutorial of my process.1. To start the environmental process, I first had to get the most important piece and that was the actual surface. Corian surfaces come in so many colors and designs and the best place to get the info was at the source. Using a hand scanner, I was able to get detailed colors and textures from the surface itself. This provided me with getting the most high-res images to use in my renders.
2. Once I was able to scan each surface, I went to 3ds Max and brought in each surface to apply. The Kitchen and bathroom environments layouts were concepted by Corian and built by me.
3. Once the modeling portion was finished, the next task was to build my camera positions and also work on the lighting. Vray was my engine for all surface lighting.
4. Finally, after getting the lights right and environmental layout in order, it was time to render. I took a lot of inspiration from photos of real kitchen and bathroom surfaces to create my environment. Those tricks included adding vignettes, adding color grading, and adjusting levels to get the most out of these images.
